Beacon Hill Meaningful Movies presents WE ARE NOT GHOSTS, February 20, 2015
Doors open at 6:15 for neighbors to meet and chat, program starts at 7:00pm.

More than fresh vegetables are available in the community garden and public farmers' market; hopes for the future grow here too. Part of this engaging film's power comes from its depiction of cross-generational community action; we see youth, families, and neighbors working together. Elders such as Grace Lee Boggs and younger community activists and artists such as Myrtle Thompson Curtis and Jessica Care Moore share wisdom and a kind of tenacious optimism that viewers will find inspiring." Filmmakers Mark Dworkin and Melissa Young of Moving Images will attend the screening. They were in attendance last year for a screening of their film SHIFT CHANGE.

Beacon Hill Meaningful Movies is an affiliate of the Meaningful Movies Project, www.meaningfulmovies.org, and a program of Beacon Arts. We gather on the third Friday of the month at the Garden House (3226 15th Ave. S, Seattle, Wash.)
We advocate for public discussion and critical debate in an environment where everyone is free to speak openly without fear. We work toward empowering citizens to engage in effective non-violent solutions in building a more peaceful and more just world. We support building a meaningful and resilient community. We do this by screening issue-focused documentaries monthly for our Beacon Hill neighbors and follow the films with a community discussion. Beacon Hill Meaningful Movies had its debut in June 2014 with help from a Department of Neighborhoods grant and we are happy to continue our program into 2015, made possible with donations from our audiences.
The Garden House is served by METRO Routes #36 and #60 (one block south) and we are two blocks north of the Beacon Hill Light Rail Station.
